This session will provide the foundational clinical understanding of cardiometabolic health, which will underpin our June webinar focusing on occupational application and fitness-for-duty decision-making.

- Identify key cardiometabolic risk factors
- Interpret core clinical and laboratory markers
- Understand cardiovascular risk estimation
- Recognise early clinical presentations and warning signs

About the presenter
Dr Michael Hancock BPharm, MD, FRACP
Dr Hancock brings a comprehensive, expert approach to the management of diabetes and its complications, informed by his personal experience living with type 1 diabetes. His practice integrates optimal use of cutting-edge technologies including continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pumps and automated insulin delivery, along with tailored dietary and exercise strategies, including those employing lower carbohydrate approaches. Metabolic Health & Obesity: He has an interest in the management of obesity and lipid abnormalities, and strategies to improve overall metabolic health. Transitioning Care for Young Adults: Having completed a fellowship year at Perth Children’s Hospital, Dr Hancock understands the challenges faced by young adults and families transitioning into early adulthood and utilising the adult healthcare system and has a particular interest in managing the long-term care of patients with diabetes and the endocrine complications associated with cancer survivorship.
