ANZSOM is honoured to welcome distinguished guests to the 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in Adelaide, recognising the importance of occupational health and its contribution to the health and wellbeing of workers across Australia and New Zealand.
The Honourable Blair Boyer MP, South Australian Minister for Health and Wellbeing, will officially open the ASM with the Welcome Address.
We are also delighted to welcome Professor Michael Kidd, Chief Medical Officer, Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, who will deliver the Fergusson Glass Oration. This prestigious oration is presented in honour of the founding fathers of academic occupational medicine in Australia and New Zealand, recognising their significant contribution to the development of the specialty.
The ASM will also feature a keynote address by Professor Saravana Kumar, Professor of Allied Health and Health Services Research at Adelaide University. Speaking on Tuesday, Professor Kumar will present Turning evidence into decisions: The art and science of clinical decisions, exploring the role of evidence in informing clinical decision-making.
Their participation is a highlight of this year’s ASM, which brings together occupational health professionals, researchers and other experts to share knowledge, explore emerging issues and advance the practice of occupational medicine.
