ANZSOM has officially launched its new Strategic Plan 2027–2030, setting out the Society’s priorities and direction for the next four years.
The plan was unveiled to members at the ANZSOM Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 28 October, held during the Annual Scientific Meeting in Adelaide.
Developed with input from members, ANZSOM leaders and key stakeholders, the plan builds on the Society’s strong foundations while positioning ANZSOM to respond to an evolving professional and healthcare environment.
Introducing the new plan, ANZSOM President Dr Rebecca Dingle highlighted the importance of keeping members at the centre of ANZSOM’s future direction:
“Our vision remains clear: a society that places the highest value on good work, safe workplaces, and healthy workers. This plan explains how we’ll support you as members, and how we’ll keep working with partners, governments and the broader profession to help make that vision real.”
Four strategic priorities
The plan identifies four key priorities to guide ANZSOM’s work:
- Strong governance, focusing on leadership, succession and a sustainable organisation
- Meaningful member engagement, strengthening the member experience, connection and retention
- High-quality professional development, including modernising CPD to meet members’ changing needs
- Effective collaboration and advocacy, growing ANZSOM’s partnerships and influence across occupational health and medicine
These priorities reflect member feedback and the changing needs of the profession, including digital transformation, evolving expectations and demand for flexible, high-value professional development.
Values to guide how we work
The plan also reinforces six core values that will underpin ANZSOM’s decisions, relationships and activities: respect, integrity, diversity, sustainability, teamwork and innovation.
Turning strategy into action
With the Strategic Plan now launched, the focus will be on translating these priorities into practical outcomes that deliver value for members and contribute to healthier, safer workplaces.
Achieving these ambitions will be a shared effort, supported by the ongoing involvement and expertise of ANZSOM members, volunteers, partners and supporters.
Dr Rebecca Dingle and the ANZSOM General Council thank everyone who contributed to developing the plan.
We look forward to working together to bring the ANZSOM Strategic Plan 2027–2030 to life and advance our vision of good work, safe workplaces and healthy workers.
