About the role
Location: Darwin, Hobart, Sydney
Engagement Type: Contractor engagement preferable (days / hours flexible)
We are seeking Medical Practitioners to join our immigration medical services team, delivering health examinations for visa applicants in partnership with Bupa Visa Medical Services.
This role offers structured clinical work within predictable business hours, with no on-call requirements or emergency presentations. We can work with your availability, making it suitable whether you are looking for regular sessions, part-time work or greater flexibility in your medical career.
Your work may include:
- Conducting immigration medical assessments for visa applicants
- Reviewing applicants’ medical histories and health declarations
- Performing clinical examinations and documenting relevant findings
- Coordinating required pathology, radiology and other investigations
- Reviewing results and identifying any additional information or specialist reports required
- Finalising and submitting completed assessments within required timeframes
- Working closely with health assessors, phlebotomists, reception teams and other Panel Physicians
Training and onboarding will be provided to support successful candidates in becoming approved Bupa Panel Physicians.

Our Doctor Support Group provides assistance with onboarding, credentialing, compliance, workforce planning and administration, allowing doctors to spend more time practising medicine and less time navigating paperwork.
Essential requirements
- Current general AHPRA registration with no conditions, undertakings, restrictions or supervision requirements
- Minimum PGY3 or equivalent postgraduate clinical experience
- Strong clinical assessment and medical history-taking skills
- Clear and respectful communication with patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinic team
