The Cedars in Hahndorf, is one of those absolute must see and do’s whilst in South Australia, but it largely remains an undiscovered gem. It is the family home of Sir Hans Heysen, who was arguably the best South Australian landscape artist, visionary and environmentalist. His daughter Nora Heysen, who was also a successful portraiture artist and Archibald prize winner, work can also be viewed at The Cedars. The property is still owned by the Heysen family and you will be treated to a guided tour of the house and studio.
